Inspiring People
Inspiration is a bridge between people and Mount Maunganui. It is made up of emotion and emotions are fuelled by connections. Unite these connections together with an event and Mount Maunganui will have power. Power leads people to action. More action more visitors to Mount Maunganui.
Love The Mount
The emotion associated with a triathlon event is huge and gives Mount Maunganui the ability to form an emotional relationship with our people resulting in more visitors to The Mount.

THE COURSE
Cycle
The cycle starts on the road at the Southern end of Mount Drury, travels south along Marine Parade turning left at the first roundabout onto Oceanbeach Road. Cyclists stay on Oceanbeach Road before turning right onto Yale Street then left onto Maranui Street. Cyclist continue on Maranui Street strait through Sunrise roundabout then Sandhurst Drive roundabout. Maranui Street turns into Papamoa Beach Road as cyclists then travel through Coast Boulevard roundabout and Pacific View Road roundabout before reaching the turnaround just before Bermuda Drive (outside the back of 26 Mauritius Key). Cyclists follow the same way back to the transition area. |
Run
The run starts on the road at the North end of Mount Drury. Runners run on the road and stay in the ocean side lane making a left onto Adams Ave then left into The Mall all the time running on the right hand side of the road. Runners run along The Mall before making a u-turn off of the road between Pacific Ave and Prince Ave onto the boardwalk back to the base of the Mount. At this point runners run around the base track of the Mount to the finish of the run on Main Beach. |
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
To make the event work as a first class event taking into account competitor safety and for future years when the numbers are larger, it is recommended that the bike course will need full road closure and the run course partial closure. First and last competitors through each intersection with maps below.
